Abstract :
A novel algorithm locating faults on parallel lines by two terminals currents is presented in the paper. Based on a differential component network, the proposed algorithm needs a very short data window, and any segment fault data from transient to steady can be used to locate faults. No voltage involved, it is free from the limitation of the CVT transferring ability. Using a distributed parameter line model, it can be used for long parallel lines. Simulations show that the proposed algorithm has higher locating precision and is free from the influence of fault types and fault resistances.
