Abstract :
This paper describes the new Energy Centre that will be built in Newcastle, Australia in 2002/3. The Energy Centre will be a focal point in Australia for research, development and demonstration of distributed power generation. It will showcase state of the art technologies to government, industry and the public. One of the roles of the Energy Centre is to identify impediments to the general introduction of distributed generation in Australia and to propose methods to overcome them. The paper contains a basic introduction to distributed generation, a description of the Energy Centre, including the objectives and outcomes, and a discussion on the process control
