  • Abstract
    This paper presents a middleware architecture for smart camera networks that is based on a pipe-and-filter model augmented with self-awareness and self-expression. These properties enable the system to move from a procedural design methodology towards a self-aware system which is able to inherently react on changing conditions from the environment.
