Abstract :
This paper describes a new PSoC microcontroller based PV (photovoltaic) system. Because the energy from the sun, fluctuates with climate conditions, the impedance of the PV system must be adjusted to match the change in lighting condition. To do this, we employ a PSoC microcontroller which can handle both analog and digital circuits, to reduce the need for additional circuit elements. The PSoC controller is used as a programmable Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controller. By applying MPPT control, solar energy is charged to an electric double-layered capacitor (EDLC) to adapt to changes in climate condition. The validity of the proposed system is confirmed by experiments.
