Abstract
Because of the noticeable differences of the characters between the electric and the 50cc gasoline-powered motorcycles, such as heavier in weight, lower in center of mass, and slower in achievable highest speed, the control and design considerations of the electrical motorcycles are not the same as conventional motorcycles. In this paper, the perception of riding comfort is discussed for steady straight line and cornering running electrical motorcycle controlled by a rider leaning action. A frequency domain Bode plot analysis is performed to determine the battery locations for achieving better perception of riding comfort, represented by the damping ratio, of the rider-motorcycle system at constant speed straight line or cornering running motorcycles for a wide range of moderate speeds.
