Abstract :
Coaxial high voltage (HV) cables are commonly used in the HV network of electric and hybrid vehicles to reduce electromagnetic interference in the low voltage network. The purpose of this study is to measure the transfer impedance of the automotive HV cables after mechanical stress using both the line injection method and a modified triaxial system. First a transfer impedance measurement system is developed through making modifications to the standard triaxial system. The accuracy of this new system is examined by testing an RG214 coaxial cable with a characteristic impedance of 50 Ω with it and comparing the results with that of the line injection method. Last the transfer impedance of the RG214 cable and a HV cable is measured after mechanical stress, again using both test methods.
