Abstract
In this paper, flexible media systems, this approach is limited by the fact that the head is contact with the media and that the increase in sensor resistance and bias current can result in a significant rise in sensor temperature. Variation in the separation between the media and the read sensor then results in transient cooling of the MR sensor through contact with isolated and elevated regions of the media.
