Abstract :
This paper proposes a method that can detect the direction of a fault during a power swing by using the negative phase sequence component generated by the fault. The method described uses for the difference in angle between the negative sequence voltage and negative sequence current for detecting direction during the power swing, because the negative phase sequence circuit is not affected by the power swing. This paper also introduces telecommunication scheme logic that makes the best use of the described method.
