Abstract :
A real-time image acquisition and processing system for visual prosthesis is described and tested. The system based on DSP (TMS320DM642) platform with a miniature camera (OV6650FS) is part of the prototype of the final visual prosthesis product. The miniature camera generates video signal, which will be converted to electrical pulses to stimulate optical nerve to elicit the visual perception.
