Abstract :
A static synchronous compensator is one of the FACTS devices used to improve the transient stability of the power system. In this paper a two Fuzzy PI based controller is designed for STATCOM. One is designed for voltage regulator and other is designed for current regulator. For Voltage Regulator the inputs to the fuzzy based controllers are error i.e. difference between Vmeas and Vref and rate of change of error and the output is the ΔKp (change in proportional gain) and ΔKi (change in integral gain). The proposed controller is tested on two machine system using Matlab Simulink Environment. The Results are compared with conventional PI STATCOM Controller.
