Abstract
The identification of continuous-time models is one of the most important branches of power system identification. The direct method based on equation error formulation using piecewise linear polynomial functions is not only simple but also useful for online parameter estimation. Another direct method based on output error formulation using least squares parameter estimation is also developed in this paper. The comparison results of direct and indirect methods are given. The results of the field tests demonstrate that the application of the direct methods to power systems is feasible.<>
