Abstract
The quality of tower siting of a transmission line determines directly the cost of the power line. Until now, all tower siting has been done by hand. It is impossible for a designer to choose a best plan from thousands of plans in practical work. In recent years, some of the problems described have had the possibility of being solved by the development of computation methods and the rapid progress of computers. Here, the authors describe how dynamic programming is the best way to solve the above problem.<>
