Abstract :
This paper investigates the distorted current waveforms produced by the fluorescent lamps with the traditional electromagnetic ballasts. Based on experimental tests, the harmonic contents of fluorescent lamps under some different operating conditions are analyzed. Besides, the effects on the harmonic currents by adding power-factor-improving capacitors are discussed.<>
