Abstract
Multiphase transmission and distribution is a matter of research for years. With DG system, multiphase paradigm is a better solution as compared to existing three phase system. The distributed generation requires less reactive power as loads are split over multiple phases. However, the use of multiphase DSTATCOM cannot be ruled out in presence of huge inductive loads. In this paper, reactive power compensation for DG system having six-phase has been developed using instantaneous p-q theory. The proposed multiphase DSTACOM System has been verified by simulation studies on MATLAB/SIMULINK.
