Abstract :
A static frequency variable generator (60 kVA, 30-300 Hz) was designed and built to drive a high voltage L-C series resonant test circuit. Besides the general principles in the design of the power electronic device, certain situations must be carefully considered according to the high voltage test procedures and working conditions. Corresponding measures were taken in the design to guarantee proper operation. The generator has been tested in a high voltage test system and then in real test situations. The generator was found to function properly.<>
