Abstract :
Adaptive antenna array has shown real promise for substantial capacity enhancement of increasing the coverage range and capacity of base stations by directing beam patterns towards the desired signals and null-patterns towards the interferers in third generation (3G) mobile systems. We propose in this paper a simple method to evaluate the probability of error in DS-CDMA receivers using a beamformer. We used a beamformer with adaptive antenna arrays followed by a RAKE receiver. This paper evaluates the average performance for 2D-Rake receivers over frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels.
