Abstract :
In this paper a modified version of the known Blackman window is proposed to be used for time domain smooth joining of coloured Gaussian sequences via overlap-add method. These sequences are generated by frequency domain filtering method. The joint sequence must have minimum-changed spectrum compared to the ideal PSD. The modification of window is necessary for keeping the variance of joint sequence unchanged. Simulation results show that the proposed window which can be called modified Blackman window has about 5 dB gain in out-band distortion reduction over the sinusoidal window due to its smaller sidelobes. Thus, for the same performance, this window can significantly increase the computational efficiency of joining procedure.
