Secure remote access to substation information

This paper describes the solution proposed by General Electric. It includes the use of standard PC´s coupled with remote access software and secure internet/intranet links. This cost effective solution covers all of the requirements and supports the use of standard web browsers at the client end along with encrypted links. In the short term it is required that the remote link operates over NGT´s corporate telephone network (CTN) using analogue modems at each end of the link.
