Abstract :
This paper describes a fuzzy logic controller for the speed control of induction motors. For changes of load inertia moment and load torque, the performance of speed controllers using a fuzzy algorithms with hierarchical structure and using conventional PI controllers is investigated. These controllers are applied to a laboratory model drive system with a 2.2 kW induction motor. Simulation and experimental results show that speed controllers using fuzzy algorithms are more robust than conventional PI controllers.<>
