Abstract
The authors show that at the analysis and preliminary design stage of switched reluctance motors, in order to predict the performance of motor torque it is important to find the motor inductance profiles which vary with the corresponding phase current and rotor angular position. This is shown to be because the torque is determined by the inductance profiles and the square of phase current.<>
