Abstract :
A tunable photonic crystal switch based on two-mode-interference directional coupler is investigated. By modulating the central row of the rods of the coupler to change the real part of the refractive index, the bar-cross switch is obtained. Finite difference time-domain method (FDTD) is employed to predict the characterization of the switch, with crosstalk <-30 dB and extinction ratio > 30 dB.
