Abstract :
A novel method was developed for the determination of DNA. The method was based on the mechanism of interaction between functionalized nanoparticle ZnS and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Fluorescence intensity of ZnS is quenched by DNA at medium pH. The optimal condition was chosen for DNA and fluorescence spectrometry was used. Linear relationship between the quenched fluorescence intensity and the concentration of DNA was found in the range of 0.2-1.2 ug/L. The limit of detection was 0.17 ug/L. The method is simple and shows high sensitivity. Interaction between DNA and thioglycolic acid-ZnS existed.
