  • Abstract
Based on the rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA) algorithm, we have analyzed the extraordinary transmission through elliptical gold nanowire grating for s- polarization. The transmittance is rather low in the common case because surface plasmons cannot be excited for this polarization, here we show that a dielectric film which sustains a surface wave on the top of the elliptical gold nanowire grating can strongly enhance the transmittance.
