Abstract
The production of synthetic fibers in today´s market demands that the production process be flexible, quick to respond, reliable, configurable and measurable. This paper discusses how important process control attributes may be managed through the use of an integrated control system. Also, the paper discusses the formation of a spinning control system that uses single motor drives (usually synchronous motors) and programmable controllers. The issues and advantages are presented from the fiber manufacturer´s perspective
