Abstract :
The current international business climate is creating opportunity for technical cooperation between partners having diverse resources and experience. Synthetic fiber production and quality is significantly affected by power system reliability, which is poor in many underdeveloped nations. Some “lessons learned” in the USA were applied to a Venezuelan location through a systematic study of the facility, parameter measurement, and review of improvement options. A static inverter and high inertia motor alternator set having 30-second ride-through capability were found to be justified and-effective in this situation. The study approach is presented along with findings, improvement options, and implementation methods
