Abstract
A major drawback of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signals is their high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), which causes serious degradation in BER performance when a nonlinear high power amplifier is used. Existing Companding scheme is a well-known method to reduce PAPR. In this paper, A joint clipping and logarithmic based i.e mu law companding technique is proposed which provides better PAPR reduction and BER performance than existing system. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can able to reduce PAPR upto 4dB and also provides better BER.
