Abstract :
In this paper the authors propose a control strategy for multicell converters based upon fuzzy logic. The control variables are hereafter not the duty cycles but the phase shifts between the trigger signals of the switches. From a nonexact but complex harmonic model of the system, a rule base has been built in order to provide fuzzy model inversion. After asymptotic stability considerations through a Lyapunov function and on a 4-cell converter, where capacitor voltages natural balance is impossible, the fuzzy controller gives the system a rather dynamic and static behaviour
