Abstract
We have proposed a novel left-handed transmission line using the substrate integrated waveguide loaded with split- ring resonator (SRR) structures. The waveguide has negative effective permittivity below its cutoff frequency, and the SRR is designed to have negative permeability within the same frequency band. Simulation results show that left-handed transmissions of EM waves occur below the cutoff frequency in a narrow band with relatively low loss, which validates the theoretical analysis.
