Abstract :
This paper describes the PEGGIE preprocessor for the three dimensional body-fitted particle-in-cell (PIC) code PIC3D. PIC3D models the time evolution of interactions between electromagnetic fields and flows of relativistic charged particles. PEGGIE is designed to take an easy-to-understand description of a device and generate the geometrical and physical information needed by PIC3D. Examples are given of the type of input needed, and the paper includes results from cold test and multipaction calculations which are representative applications of the software
