Abstract
Summary form only given. The term `software radio´ is not precisely defined in general speech. Here, we understand software radio as being a reconfigurable hard- and software platform which can be adapted to special requirements, e.g. different standards or services, simply by downloading the appropriate software. Software radio embraces everything from a flexible terminal equipment through adaptive base stations and base station controllers to flexible fixed network structures
