Abstract :
The analysis of an offset or inclined printed slot on the ground plane of a microstrip line is presented using the spectral domain approach and reciprocity theorem. The exact Green´s functions for the uniaxially anisotropic dielectric substrates are used to solve for the unknown slot electric field, from which components in the equivalent circuit for the slot can be determined. Comparison of numerical results for the special case of a center fed perpendicular slot with other available computed and measured data shows a good agreement. It is found that impedance level can be controlled over a wide range by varying offset distance or inclination angle. Effects of dielectric anisotropy and addition of a dielectric cover are also investigated
