Abstract
Describes an image analysis method for the investigation of characteristic properties in area where landslides may occur. High resolution SPOT data of 1987 July of northwest of Iran were studied. Unsupervised classification techniques were used to identify different classes of agricultural lands. Multispectral bands were used in a maximum likelihood classification which produced seven classes. Also geometric correction and GIS techniques were applied to evaluate the location of the area. The results of this discrimination was good
