Abstract :
Evolution of knowledge-based industry should accelerate the research for improving human interoperability across collaborating individuals and organizational domains. These human-centric environments are critically dependent on individuals´ ability and integrity of the information and the quality of decisions. Human interoperability plays an important role in these areas, while supporting semantic interoperability in a manner that reinforces the collaboration through cooperative and coordinated cognition activities of the participants. Coordinated cognitive activities elucidate a group direction-making process that allows creation of similar knowledge among group members through sharing and interpreting of information. This paper elaborates on key human interoperability policy challenges and the role of coordinated human behavior and cognition, and the methodologies for developing knowledge-based service systems. In addition, it provides a feasible example to validate the effectiveness of semantic interoperability for the group members to achieve high group performance where human play a key role in knowledge-based environments.
