Abstract :
In this work, the radiance scaling potential of a Nd:YAG PW using an extended stable-resonator configuration is discussed. The paper demonstrated an end-pumped PW 946 nm laser with extended stable-cavity giving >;25W at 946nm with 50% optical to optical efficiency with respect to absorbed power, and in a high-brightness configuration >;15W with M2~2.6, showing excellent prospects for further scaling of the average power.
