Abstract :
The paper presents experimental results on a 6.6-mm-long double tungstate microstructured channel waveguide with a refractive index contrast between the active layer and the substrate of 1.5x10-2. The presented laser performance of Yb-doped double tungstate waveguides confirms the unique properties of this material and the suitability as host material for compact laser devices with extreme performance.
