Abstract
To the authors´ knowledge implemented for the first time, an HBr master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) system which was pumped by the Ho:YLF laser system is presented .The HBr MOPA system produced 9 mJ per pulse when seeded with 2.3 mJ and pumped with 200 mJ incident energy, of which approximately 75% was absorbed when the HBr amplifier cell pressure was 60 mBar. The measured output wavelengths of the HBr MOPA were 4.20 μm and 4.34 μm, which are consistent with previous experimental and numerical results for an HBr laser.
