Tomales Environmental Learning Center: a gateway to the ocean

The Tomales Environmental Learning Center was opened to meet a strong and growing need in our community, the need to increase our residents´ awareness of their direct relationships with and responsibilities toward the health of the ocean. The center, housed at Tomales High School, is an integral part of the school´s curriculum, and the students at the center participate in a comprehensive program that that has them working side-by-side with marine and environmental scientists investigating issues of local concern.
