Abstract :
In this work the results on oscillation properties of new Pr3+ doped SrF2 ceramics are firstly presented. Visible 639 nm red laser oscillation in SrF2 fluoride ceramics was obtained in CW mode of operation without any special cooling with slope efficiency above 9%. Estimated optical losses in SrF2:Pr ceramic sample were similar to that obtained for previously tested IR SrF2:Nd3+ ceramics.
