Abstract
In 2010 FORMIT developed the VIEWER project with the support of the Prevention, Preparedness and Consequence Management of Terrorism and other Security Related Risks Programme of the European Commission, DG Home Affairs. The main goals of the project were to realize a recognition of Video Analytics (hereafter VA) software currently on the market; to collect qualitative information and quantitative data on the VA software performances in order to be able to define the state of the art; to address policy recommendations to the European Commission; to address recommendation to the research community on the future desirable development in the sector.
