Abstract :
This paper presents a distributed scheduling algorithm for the manufacturing system under hard real-time constraints. It uses a scheduling component local to every node and a distributed scheduling scheme that is specifically suited to hard real-time constraints and other timing considerations. Pre-planned parts, sporadic parts, scheduling overheads, transportation overheads due to scheduling, changeover overheads and pre-emption are all accounted for in the algorithm
