Abstract :
In the paper, the VIEF and the FDTD methods were used to calculate the specific extinction cross section (SECS) of aerosols of brass 70Cu/30Zn with 14 to 365 particles in the infrared. Models of body-center-like were used for calculations of specific extinction cross section. From theoretical calculations, the values of specific extinction cross section of aerosol particles of brass 70Cu/30Zn obtained by the VIEF and the FDTD methods were 0.02 to 0.3 and 0.04 to 2.8 m2/g, respectively. While from experimental measurements, the value of the specific extinction cross section is 0.6 to 3.78 m2/g. The theoretical results obtained by the FDTD method are in better agreement with those obtained from experimental measurements
