Abstract
Investigated the influence of oxidation on morphology and impulse breakdown strength of LDPE. The results are summarized as follows. (1) The peak intensity on (110) plane of XRD pattern is increased with the oxidation. (2) The calculated crystal size for (110) plane from XRD pattern does not depend on the degree of oxidation. (3) impulse breakdown strength at 30°C decreases with the progress of oxidation in the low oxidation region, and increases in the high oxidation region. On the other hand, impulse breakdown strength at 90°C decreases with the progress of oxidation in the low and high oxidation region. Although the crystallization due to the oxidation is enhanced, it scarcely effects the change of impulse breakdown strength with the progress of oxidation
