Abstract :
In this paper, a detailed description and comparision of speckle reduction of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image using transform is presented. The despeckling method is to reduce the speckle noise in SAR images, provided that the structural features and edges are not lost using Maximum a Posteriori (MAP) estimator based on wavelet and curvelet transform. These transforms are applied to noisy SAR image and respective despeckled images are obtained. Finally these two methods are compared and the performance are verified by quality metric analysis.
