This paper briefly describes the initiation and development of the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) comparisons of the TRMM and TRMM Follow-On (TRMM F-O) features, and status of actions concerning the TRMM F-O. The TRMM follow on mission radar satellite is expected to be launched in 1997
