Abstract :
A simple, effective, fast codebook index searching algorithm for quantized equal gain transmission (QEGT) in MIMO systems is presented. Rough searching based on the newly defined metric selects a few candidates, then, accurate searching based on the conventional method determines the optimal one. This strategy reduces the overall searching time, while maintaining almost the same link-level performance. Moreover, as the codebook size increases, the searching time is greatly decreased, compared to the conventional method.
