Abstract :
This paper describes Kyushu Electric´s developmental approach to establish an independent power supply system to supply electric power for aircraft warning lights by combining renewable energy (i.e. photovoltaic power, wind power) and a power storage system using lithiumion (Li-ion) batteries. As a result of a field test using a real power transmission tower, the validity of the system could be assessed.
