  • Abstract
    New thin disk laser materials with high output powers in continuous wave and pulsed mode is reported. Spectroscopic investigations were done to analyse the new lasing materials. Experiments with a 200 μm thick c-cut oriented Yb(30%):YLF crystal were performed in a setup with 24 pump passes through the gain medium. The Yb-doped Lu0.67Sc0.67Y0.67O3 crystal was grown by the heat exchanger method. The upper state lifetime was determined by the pinhole method to be 918 μs.
