Abstract :
Rayleigh lidar measurements taken during a campaign over/Frascati (42°N, 13°E) are analysed to realise system dynamics during instabilities and also layer responses towards propagating waves. Instabilities in the system are studied by characterising parameters defined by variabilities like temperature etc.. The paper discusses variations of Burnt frequency and temperature gradient for few noctural cases and studies situations when the static stability of stratosphere is observed to be lost. A few cases of wave propagation from stratosphere to mesosphere are discussed during this condition. Vertical structures of the waves are estimated from cross correlation parameters
