Abstract :
In summary, the standard electro-optic detector can be improved orders of magnitude in the terms of the sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio by utilization of the phase-matching and heterodyning technique. Although the modified detector works at room temperature, it outperforms other THz detectors in terms of sensitivity and response time. Such detector is suitable for high performance THz remote imaging systems.
