Abstract
The authors show the necessity to consider the space-variant nature of the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system transfer function to correctly process SAR raw data. An extremely efficient procedure to compensate this space-variant effect is provided. It is mainly based on the evaluation of the two-dimensional SAR raw data spectrum on a deformed grid by using a non conventional fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm. Experiments confirming theoretical results are presented
